Literature Text

What is this moment
Softly singing promises at my ear!
A whisper of time, a single instant
The shell which echoes the infinite sea.

To cross the gaping distance,
Reach, certainly, I shall not.
Hear its hisses and snarls at my resistance,
This step, a mile, a deep ravine!

Then, where once horizons were tame,
Time and space no more belong.
Their remnants scorched in birthing flame,
And from their ashes, forth has come

To lily, iris' tender kiss,
Its caress devout and strong.
Pale light, pray, be not amiss!
Encompass their rapture in your midst.

Let not their new passion
Drift, prey to somber night.
If not with haste, so be with caution,
Let forever bloom for them.
Poem I've been mulling over for a while... Title says it all. I guess I've been affected by all the British Victorian literature I've been reading lately... What can I say, I love it's imagery! Hope you all enjoy!
